How it works
The above ground Commercial RainStore tanks can easily be fitted to existing guttering of a building or incorporated in new build plans.
They collect rainwater from the roof via the downpipe. The rainwater flows though a filter to remove unwanted debris and then flows straight into the tank. There is an option for in-line and submersible pumps for the extraction of water, but this is not supplied as part of our package.

- Rainwater inlet from roof
- Filter unit to remove dirt and debris from water before it flows into the tank (optional extra)
- Dirty water removed by filter washes back into the drain
- Calmed inlet at bottom of the tank so incoming water does not disturb any settled sediment (optional extra)
- Siphon overflow located at the tank fill level skims off excess water and floating debris and returns to drain
- 2” bsp outlet for connecting to inline pump or for linking to additional tank
- Inline pump for extraction of water to required application. Tank fittings for a submersible pump are standard on all tanks (not included)
- 16” lid for inspection and maintenance purposes
- Watchman to monitor tank water level (optional extra)
When you order a tank from the Commercial RainStore range the following will be included:
- Calmed inlet
- Overflow siphon
- 16” lid

- Incoming rainwater collects in the inlet weir sump, from which it must weir over onto the 2 filter units (overflow principle). This is tolerant of non-verticality.
- Cleaning takes place over the two cascades. Larger dirt particles are washed directly to waste off the primary cascade.
- Pre-cleaned water then flows over the finer secondary sleeve unit (at 0.65mm). Because of the specialist filter structure, fine dirt is rinsed to waste, and washes out of the waste outlets.
- The filtered water collects in the central sump and passes via both clean water outlets to the collection tank.
- The dirt that has been filtered out is washed to waste via the outlets.
