Ezy-FilterThe Ezy-Filter Solution
This ability makes Ezy-Filter a logical extension to a rainwater harvesting system, allowing harvesting to take place without actual rainfall. By using Ezy-Filter not only will you reduce the amount of water you use, reduce
your water bills and be able to water your gardens even in the hottest weather, but you will
also be helping the environment by reducing pressure on the world’s precious resource. Ezy-Filter is among the newest and most technically advanced options for those who want to harvest and store rainwater as well as use water efficiently. |
Greywater HarvestingWhat is greywater? Greywater is the term given to previously
used water, such as the waste from showers,
baths and sinks. Greywater is only mildly contaminated (soap, skin oils, detergents etc) but requires a degree of treatment before it can be recycled for secondary (non-potable) use, such as cleaning, toilet flushing or irrigation. Since greywater is originally derived from normal mains water use, users are not dependent on rainfall. This daily supply of water is available wherever baths, sinks and showers are used. Filtered greywater is true recycling as the water has been previously used. |
Ezy-Filter is a unique recycling system that turns waste water from baths, showers and sinks back to a clear form that is safe for use in the garden and within the home.
Ezy-Filter enables this ‘greywater’ (that would normally go into the drainage system) to be used twice - halving the cost of water that is collected and helping the environment.
Unlike other harvesting methods, Ezy-Filter will supply a constant source of precious everyday water but without the need for rain!
How Ezy-Filter turns greywater into usable water
A combination outlet is attached to the bath, shower and sink waste pipe, diverting the used water down through the Ezy-Filter unit where it is cleaned, before being deposited in a storage tank.
The key to the system is the patented filter cartridge that effectively converts soaps, detergents and other impurities into clear recycled and usable water.
The filter uses saline solution extracted from sea water as its main component. Combined with activated carbon, the filter medium requires no chemicals and is efficient in both bacterial and foam elimination, bringing the water back to within European bathing water regulation standards.
Where can Ezy-Filter be installed?
The filter is externally wall mounted and is gravity fed from baths, showers and sinks in two-story dwellings.
No power source is required and the diversion from the down-pipe is a DIY task. If you are unsure about this process please consult a qualified plumber.
Ezy-Filter can be used to supply any size of system - from a simple water butt to a comprehensive rainwater harvesting scheme. Whatever your design, Kingspan offers a comprehensive range of storage options to suit every application.
Smaller capacity tanks (such as gravity-fed water butts) are often located above ground, while larger tanks (with pumped supply) are usually installed unobtrusively below ground.
This modular approach gives the flexibility to decide what tank is right for your level of use and what suits your property. The choice is yours.
Above Ground Storage
More commonly referred to as water butts, these are gravity-fed tanks and range from 100 litres up to 900 litres capacity. The commercial range is available from 1300 litres up to 10,000 litres. Contact us for pumped options.
Below Ground Storage
Underground tanks feature a pumped supply and are often used to store rainwater collected from the roof area. Chambers begin at 2700 litres and sized over 80,000 litres for professional use.
Fitment Options
Ezy-Filter allows the user a number of fitment configurations, depending on the system and building design. The most popular options for domestic use are illustrated above

Recycled water, (whether treated greywater from Ezy-Filter or rainwater from the roof), can be used in a wide variety of non-potable applications.
Gardeners can avoid the hosepipe ban by using recycled water for irrigation while homeowners and businesses can reduce overall water usage and subsequently enjoy lower water bills.
Rainwater recycling also presents architects and developers with an innovative solution for any building development aiming to achieve an environmental evaluation scheme excellence rating (such as BREEAM and The Code for Sustainable Homes).
